In my doctoral studies I am studying the influence of long-term alkaline dust pollution on the epiphytic lichens in different polluted areas. I suppose that the impact of alkaline dust pollution is seen in the change of species composition of epiphytic lichens and mosses, and in the increase of biodiversity of epiphytes on coniferous trees. Also I am planning to compare the genetic variation of a selected lichen, Usnea subfloridana, in the condition of gravel road dust pollution (using method of microsatellite markers).
