In my doctoral studies I am studying the influence of long-term alkaline dust pollution on biodiversity (vascular plants, bryophytes, and lichens) in
different polluted areas. I suppose that the long-term dust pollution has resulted in destruction of natural and in formation of artificial communities in pine forest ecosystems in the vicinity of the sources of pollution. Also I am planning to study the genetic variation of a selected lichen, Usnea subfloridana, in conditions of dust pollution (using method of microsatellite markers).
