In my doctoral studies I am studying the influence of long-term alkaline dust pollution on epiphytic lichens and mosses in
different polluted areas. I suppose that the impact of alkaline
dust pollution is seen in the change of species composition of epiphytic
lichens and mosses, and in the increase of biodiversity of epiphytes on
coniferous trees. Also I am planning to study the genetic variation of a selected lichen, Usnea subfloridana, in conditions of dust pollution (using method of microsatellite markers).
